Title John Graf Blue Soda Water Bottle
Description Blob top clear 'soda water' bottle with vibrant light blue tint (reminents of inner contents). Base of bottle has 8 sides making an octagon shape, the body of the bottle is round. The neck of the bottle is very short forming into the blob top. Inside the top is a rusted metal internal stopper than forms a loop whuch emerges from the top of the bottle. The bottle has embrossed lettering on both the front and back sides. One side reads "John Graf / Milwaukee / Wis", the other reads, " The Best What Gives / Trade Mark / This Bottle / Not to be sold".

Maker John Graf (1884 - 1913)
Maker Details John Graf Sr. was born in Milwaukee, Wis. on February 27, 1853. In 1873 Graf would form a partnership with Phillip Madlener. They called the company Graf & Madlener manufacturers of soda water (Weiss Beer Brewery). The company produced a variety of different flavor soft drinks. They were located on Elizabeth Street at the corner of Grove Street. The company stayed at this location until 1877. Sometime in 1883 John Graf became the sole owner of the company. The company now was called the John Graf South Side White Beer Brewery and was located at 2201 West Greenfield St. In 1913 the company would incorporate and was called the John Graf Co. John would pass away on May 16 1930. His son would take over the company with his sister Sylvia Graf as president of the firm. Sylvia would pass away in 1963. John Graf Sr. grand son Lawrie would take over the company. Under his leadership the company became national known for its Grandpas Graf's Root Beer.

Notes Glass is in relatively good shape, there is no scratching on bottle except for three small scratches on the blob top. Bottle does have some discolored bubbling in outer layer of glass. Inside of bottle is stained blue at bottom and some around the shoulders of the bottle from inside contents.
