Title Grove's Tasteless Chill Tonic

Description Red-orange cardboard packaging with a portrait of a laughing baby on the front and back. The box is worn throughout especially at the edges and corners and some of the color has been rubbed away. The front and back labels reads "Grove's/Tasteless/ Chill Tonic / For Malaria / and Resulting / Chills and Fever / Pleasant and Effective" Both sides of the box are labeled with directions for usage. There is a 10 fl. oz. clear glass bottle inside with tonic still filling it almost completely. The front sticker label is white and black in color stating purpose/usage and directions. The bottle has a black metal cap with a gold rim around the bottom where color had worn off.

Maker Details Grove Laboratories was founded in 1886 by Edwin W. Grove in Paris, France. Its industry was pharmaceutical products and its headquarters was in St. Louis, Missouri. It went defunct in 1957 after being acquired by the Bristol-Myers Company.

Notes The cardboard packaging is worn, especially around corners and edges. Some of the red coloring of the box has worn away and the left side of the box has a tear going halfway down the package. Aroung the bottom there is some tape keeping the bottom flap shut. The glass bottle inside is in good condition, the glass is clear and relatively clean, there are no scratches or chips. The front label is slightly discolored from aging but is fully intact. The black metal cap is also in good condition with no scratches or dents.
