Title Rikers Expectorant

Description A glass bottle with a cream screw-topped cap filled with cough syrup. The front label is white with black text and include Rikers and sons logo. Below that is the list of ingredients and manufacturer information. The back label lists directions and a warning. The liquid is a dark brown-amber.

Maker United Drug Company

Maker Details William Rikers started his company in 1846 and was eventually bought out by the United Drug Company in c. 1916. The United Drug Company was founded in Boston, Mass and they sold Rexall products. Louis K. Liggett had UDC's invest in Rexall and changed the company name to Rexall in around 1920. Rexall drugstores closed during the 1980s and Dollar Tree as of 2010 began selling Rexall products.

Notes The bottle has been opened before. The liquid solidifies at he neck of the bottle. The cap is worn and the labels have water damage to them, causing discoloration. The back one has a corner missing from its label. The bottle is dusty as well.
