Maker Details The Centaur Co. was established in 1871 in New York and produced Castoria. It was originally called the J.B. Rose Co. and sold Dr. Pritcher's Castoria. The Sterling Drug co. bought shares of CCD in 1923 and by 1984, they sold CCD to Mentholatum Co. Inc. That company was bought by Rohto Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd of Osaka Japan in 1988 and Castoria was still in production as of 2001. Sterling Drug Co. produced many wellness products and sold them globally.
