Maker Ideal Toy Co.

Maker Details The Ideal Toy Company approached the Temple family and asked permission to create and sell a Shirley Temple doll. Sales began in 1934 and were wildly popular, with dolls in a range of sizes and different outfits being sold. Ideal was the only toy company licensed to sell Shirley Temple dolls, but other companies sold look alikes. Ideal Toy Company began in 1907 and produced many dolls. Later the company produced toys like the board game Mousetrap and the Rubix Cube. It was sold in 1982.
