Title Bauer & Black adhesive tape tin

Description Small round metal tin originally containing 4 yards of 5/8 inch Bauer & Black adhesive tape. Base is 2547a, lid is 2547b. Tin is pale blue in color with darker blue areas and gold metallic trim. Center of both lid surfaces has concentric ring design with words on outer edges. Base says "Ideal for Daily Use / Sticks to Any Clean Surface."

Maker Details Bauer & Black, a Chicago manufacturer of surgical dressings, porous plasters, suspensories, chest protectors and other surgical appliances, opened a New York branch downtown on Gold St. around 1901. Bauer & Black was founded in Chicago in the mid-1890s by Louis Bauer, Alexander Bauer, Gustav T. Bauer, and Stephen H. Black. In 1928 Bauer & Black were acquired by the Kendall Co. of Walpole, Massachussetts
