Title Emerson's Bromo Seltzer

Description Cobalt blue glass bottle containing 9 oz. of Bromo Seltzer antacid. Bottle has a white "1943" stamp and an embossed "5" on the bottom. Cap is metal and says "Emerson's / Bromo-Seltzer / Keep tightly closed" on the top. Paper label is light tan colored with blue writing. Label includes directions for use, a warning message, and active ingredients. Bottle still contains about half of its original contents. 2546a is the bottle, 2546b is the cap.

Maker Emerson's

Maker Details Bromo-Seltzer was an extremely popular drug, in the form of a powder, introduced circa 1891. This concoction was heavily promoted as a remedy for "sick headache," upset stomach, headache, hangover, and other maladies. The exact formula varied somewhat in the earlier years, with the main ingredient (originally) being sodium bromide.

Notes Label is in good condition, very slight edge wear. Metal lid has some corrosion. Bottle is free of cracks. Lid is easily removable. Bottle still has about half its original contents.
