Maker Borden Company

Maker Details Liderkranz is a American made cheese similar to Limburger cheese. Emil Frey created Liderkranz in 1891 and named it after a local sinigng society, a Liderkranz Club. The Monroe Cheese Company originally produced Liderkranz, but ownership was passed to the Borden Company in 1929 after production moved to Van Wert, Ohio. Borden terminated its natural cheese lines in favor of processed cheese in 1981.

Summary good

Assessor BN

Notes Overall, white labeling is discolored and stained on exterior. B: top label is discolored, staining at left. Right side of lid appears to be pushed downward. Edgewear on lid and at corners. The lid does not sit flat on its own, lower edge is uneven and appears to be manufacturer error in that it is more of a parallelogram than rectangle. A: box is worn on edges. Discoloration on exterior. On back, loss of top paper layer at top edge center. On of the holes punched out at bottom still retains the inner piece.
