Title Church & Co's Baking Soda box

Description Small, rectangular cardboard box containing baking soda. Produced by Church & Dwight Co., Inc. Opened and contains baking soda. Box is yellow with red, white and blue ink. On front is Arm & Hammer brand logo of arm holding hammer. Blue circle around logo with text "Church & Co's / Baking Soda". At top text "Half Pound / Arm & Hammer". At bottom "Bicarbonate of Soda / Net Weight". On top is cut out tabs for opening box, logo and graphic of how to open box with text. On left and right sides are blocks of text with product description and recipes. Back of box is same as front but with red circle instead of blue around logo. Bottom of box has logo with text.

Maker Details Church & Dwight Co. was founded in 1896 by John Dwight and his brother-in-law Austin Church. In 1846, they started to sell baking soda. Arm & Hammer is a brand produced by Church & Dwight. The logo is of an arm holding a hammer. Arm & Hammer dates to the 1860s and Church & Dwight state that the logo represents Vulcan, the Roman god of Fire and metal working.

Notes Still contains baking soda - needs attention. The top side of box is torn and creased. Top tab is loose and torn almost completely off. Box is pushed in on top side and on back side with creasing and tearing. Overall, box is discolored and stained. On back side of box tear at top 1/4 at center; torn completely through. Edges and corners on exterior are worn with loss of paper layer.
