Description Cardboard box containing seven sticks (1 oz.) of cinnamon. Packaged for John Hoffman & Sons, Co., of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Box has orange and blue coloring with a red letter "H" on front and back. Sides of box are orange with blue detail and the words "Finest Quality Quill Cinnamon."

Maker John Hoffman & Sons Co.

Maker Details John Hoffman was born in Germany in 1839 and served in a grocery apprenticeship before coming to the United States in 1857. He found work as a butcher and later went into business with Jacob Wellauer and opened a wholesale grocery business. He became the sole owner of the business in 1898, his sons joined him in 1904. John Hoffman died in 1919.

Notes Box has a small dent in the lower right corner on the front. Other than that, crips edges, no wrinkles or folds in the carboard. Cinnamon in good quality.
