Place of Origin

Maker Chambers Medicine Co.

Maker Details Chambers manufactured a series of medicines. In 1936, court records show Chambers products seized and later destroyed, found to be fraudulant and misleading. Analysis of the Help Nature Tablets showed that they consisted essentially of phenolphthalein, and plant drugs including a laxative plant drug. Said article was alleged to be misbranded further in that the following statements borne on the box labels, regarding its curative and therapeutic effects, were false and fraudulent: "For Dyspepsia. Better Than Pills for Liver Trouble. For the Stomach, Kidneys, Liver and Blood." On October 26, 1936, no claimant having appeared, judgments of condemnation were entered and it was ordered that the products be destroyed.
