Title Lambrecht Creamery butter crock

Description Stoneware crock. Off-white in color with gloss finish on sides and interior, but bottom is not. Large rim at top. At front text in blue. 12c / Deposit" at left and right of text. "Lambrecht / Butter / 'Famous for its Flavor' / Milwaukee Chicago". On back text, "For Better Living - Lambrecht Quality - Lambrecth Service / Fine Food Since 1909".

Maker Lambrecht Creamery

Maker Details John Lambrecht started the Lambrecht Creamery in 1909 at 16th and Meinecke in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It later moved to 2930 W. Center Street. In the late 1920s, Lambrecht joined Beatrice Foods of Chicago, Illinois and became Lambrecht Foods. Lambrecht continued until 1970 when if finally closed its offices on Center Street.

Notes Crack through stoneware on front at left from top lip vertically 2". Overall, crock is dirty and has staining. Staining and discoloration along top of lip. Black stain on back edge of lip. Interior has accrections along bottom. Bottom of crock is unglazed. Dirty and discolored especially along edges. Chip with loss on front edge of crock.
