Description Print depicts a pastoral scene. In background at left is a white barn. Tree in forefront at right. At center are a brown and white horse attached to a haywagon filled with hay. Two men with pitchforks loading hay into the wagon. At right edge is woman in red dress looking to the left and a dog behind her. Elaborate wood frame with wood backing and wire for hanging. Glass covering and red matting.

Artist Details 1854-1922 Frank F. English was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He is known for his watercolors. He attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in the 1880s. He often painted the Pennsylvania landscape.

Notes Frame is worn with scraches and surface wear. Loss of wood at right corner on front portion of frame and along lower right edge on front portion of frame. Back side of frame has scratches throughout. Paper backing has light discoloration and staining. Glass is cracked in upper right corner. Print has bubbling. Crease across lower right corner from lower edge to right edge at least 11 inches across. Creases at right 1/2 just above center by tree. Large scratch to left and above the brown horse. Creasing along lower edge to left of center. White debris trapped under glass.
