Title Oakite

Description It is a red and white box containing Oakite that was made by Oakite Products, Inc. The entire container is full of writing. The front starting at the top has an image of oil lamp with "Science" written the middle. There are two quotes on either side of the oil lamp. Then it says "Oakite Cleans a Million Things." Below that it says "Cleans as nothing else does. Oakite emulsifies greases." Then it goes on to describe how it works. It is trademark by the US Pat. Off. The top of the box says "Oakite. Avoid wast. To use punch hole." The bottom says product name again then it asks if the owner will write a booklet for the company. The left side says "Sample not to be Sold." The right: Punch Hole. 4 oz net weight. Then, written horizontal "Do not waste. Follow Directions." It then compares that the product with 1.5 pounds of other cleaners. The back lists the directions in multiple situations like Labor, washing clothes, using in the bathroom and painted surfaces.

Maker Oakite Products, Inc.

Maker Details In 1909, Oakley Chemical Company is founded with a product called Oakite, a safe alternative to caustic soda, used for heavy-duty cleaning of artillery shells during World War I. Then in 1926 Oakley Chemical Company changed its name to Oakite Products, due to the popularity of its original product.1998 Chemetall Oakite received QS 9000/ISO 9001 certification. In 2000 Oakite Products, Inc. announced its new identity as Chemetall Oakite. Also, in 2000, it acquired Brent International, UK. Then, in 2001, the company acquired Aerospace Business of Dinol, Sweden.By 2004 Chemetall GmbH was acquired by the Rockwood Speciality Group, Inc., in Princeton, NJ. Then, in 2008 Chemetall Oakite announced its new identity as Chemetall. As of 2008 it acquired GE Betz (GE Metals), NDT products of Ely Chemical Company and Nalco Finishing Technologies.
