Maker P. Lorillard Company
Maker Details In 1760, entrepreneur Pierre Lorillard founded America’s first tobacco company in New York City. Now known as Lorillard Inc., it is the oldest continuously operating tobacco company in the United States. Today, Lorillard, through its Lorillard Tobacco Company subsidiary, manufactures Newport — the number one selling menthol cigarette in the U.S. — as well as brands Kent, True, Maverick, and Old Gold.* In 2010, Lorillard celebrated its 250th anniversary since its founding in 1760, making it the oldest publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange and one of the oldest continuously operating companies in America. *Lorillard and its brand names are registered trademarks of Lorillard Licensing Company, LLC.

Notes Tobacco was still inside tin, removed and stored separately. A- Surface scratches on interior and exterior of tin. Tax stamp at top is torn on edge of lid, creased and worn. Small area of loss of tax sampt at right side at lower edge. Lid is dented running from top left corner through center. At upper left edge of can the metal is dented and the seam is off. This causes the lid to sit crooked on tin. At lower edge at left there is a loss of paint. On back of can scratches have caused loss of paint layer. B- tobacco is still enclosed. Cellophane wrapper is yellowed, but in very good condition.
