Title Murray's Erinmore Flake Tobacco

Description Round, metal canister with lid, paper label and metal insert. A- canister is metal with yellow label that has red text. Front of label has text "Murray's / Erinmore / Special Flake Cube Cut". Back of labe has image of pineapple center with text "Made in Northern Ireland / Murray Sons & Col, LTD. / Tobacco, Snuff & Cigarette Manfrs. / Belfast Ireland / Establilshed 1910". 2 piece of tax stamp adhered at left and right. Bottom is emobssed with manufacturer name and sticker at cetner for "John Middleton, Inc. Philadelphia 6, PA. Sole Distributor in U.S.A.". B- Lid is embossed metal. Pineapple center with mfg name around it. at left is metal tab. C- Paper label with mfg name aroun edges and numbers punched on "12437". D- circular metal piece with 3D metal dot at center. possibly pull lid from canister, edges are worn and sharp.

Maker Murray Sons & Co.

Maker Details Murray, Sons & Company, LTD. was founded in 1810 in Belfast Ireland. In the 1920s, Dunlop McCosh Cunningham took over the company. The company was well known for its pipe tobacco. In 1953, Carreras Tobacco, a London-based company acquired the company. Murray, Sons & Co was closed in 2004.

Notes A- Metal is tarnished with surface scratches. Label is worn. Tear at front at right upper edge. Loss of paper layer on right side of can from tax stamp. Tax stamp is loose on right at bottom of canister. On left side of canister, tax stamp is loose and has small tear. Loss of paper layer from tax stamp. On bottom, metal is tarnished. White sticker is loose at right side. Brown stain at left. Interior of canister is tarnsihed with scratches. B- Lid is tarnished with surface scratches. Gold paint worn off on sides. Interior is tarnished. C- paper is discolored and yellowed. Small brown stains. At right of center there is a hole in paper D- Metal piece is tarnished with light scratches. Sharp edges.
