Notes Sam, Max, and Meyer Bayuk started the Bayuk Bros. Cigar Co. in 1896 in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Hand Made Perfecto was introduced in 1910. This cigar became commonly known as "Phillies". In 1920, they became Bayuk Bros., Inc and by 1923 they changed the name to Bayuk Cigars, Inc. Phillies were sold in tin boxes of 50 cigars starting in 1922 until World War II. During the Depression the price was dropped from 10 to 5 and it became the number one brand in the U.S. http://cigarhistory.info/Cigar_companies-brands/Phillies.html
