Title Bayuk Philadelphia Perfecto cigar tin

Description Hinged, metal tin with painted exterior. Faux wood. On lid is logo for company at center and on left and right sides with text, "Bayuk / Philadelphia / Hand Made / Perfecto". Sticker at lower right edge over onto front of box. On front of box text at center, "Hand Made / Perfecto" with box to right with sale information. Back side of box has company logo for Bayuk Bros. Factory No. information on bottom of box. Interior of box has painted logo on lid. Metal piece at left of interior to prop up lid when open.

Notes Overall, scratches on exterior and interior. Metal is tarnished and worn. On exterior of lid, brown accretions throughout. At lower right edge the sticker is worn and faded. The metal underneath is rusted and corroded. On front side of box at left there is accretions from the tax sticker, only small piece remaining. Right side of front is dented and distorted. Bottom of box is worn and scratched. Clear, glossy coating at lower edge and at left near center. Bottom is dented and distorted. Interior of box is very tarnished and worn. Rusting around edges. Interior of lid is dirty.

Notes Sam, Max, and Meyer Bayuk started the Bayuk Bros. Cigar Co. in 1896 in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Hand Made Perfecto was introduced in 1910. This cigar became commonly known as "Phillies". In 1920, they became Bayuk Bros., Inc and by 1923 they changed the name to Bayuk Cigars, Inc. Phillies were sold in tin boxes of 50 cigars starting in 1922 until World War II.
