Description / Abstract

Physical Description Paper magazine advertisment in a wood frame with glass and cardboard back. Rectangular. Print is on white paper with graphic of tobacco tin at center with orange background. At top edge text is for magazine page 44, Saturday Evening Post, March 12, 1927. Text at bottom of page, "Men like the flavor / women enjoy the fragrance". Circle at lower right with "15" in it. Frame is painted gold. On back there is metal piece at top edge for hanging. Cardboard is attached via metal nails to bail. Masking tape along top and bottom edges and right side. Dimensions (include frame): 15 1/16" H x 11 1/16" W x 5/8" D

Notes Needs attention. Frame is not archival. Should be removed. Paper is in good conditoin. Light yellowing and discoloration on edges. Some creases along bottom 1/4 of page. At left edge just above center there are two holes in page with no loss of paper Frame is in fair condition. Dark marks along top. Wear and white marks along bottom edge. On back side, tape is loose and unattached at lower right edge. Wood frame has accretions and residue from tape along edges. Metal nails are rusted. Masking tape is discolored. Black mark on cardboard at right edge center. Cardboard has wear, creases and light scratches.
