Notes In 1871, five Joannes Brothers founded the Joannes Brothers Company in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The business began with a small retail location, but by 1873 expanded to wholesale. Other brands from the company included Martha Washington, Varsity and Sunset Club. In the 1950s, it was still one of the largest Wisconsin wholesalers and also opened supermarkets. http://greenbaywi.gov/csa/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Intensive-Resource-Survey-Final-Report.pdf
