Sub-Title The Invisible Life of Jimmy Olsen!

Series Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen

Edition Oct 1959 No. 40

Description / Abstract Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen comic book feat, "The Invisible Life of Jimmy Olsen!". Co-features: "Jimmy Olsen, Supergirl's Pal!" and "Jimmy Olsen, Juvenile Delinquent!" Also includes various advertisements and offers. James "Jimmy" Bartholomew Olsen is a fictional character who appears mainly in DC Comics’ Superman stories. Olsen is a young photojournalist working for the Daily Planet. He is close friends with Lois Lane, Clark Kent/Superman and Perry White. Olsen looks up to his coworkers as role models and parent figures. In many Silver Age comic books, Jimmy was often seen sharing adventures with Superman, who saved him from various predicaments ranging from dangerous to merely embarrassing. This was particularly pronounced in the series Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen (published from 1954 to 1974), which saw Olsen in a variety of slapstick adventures and strange transformations. Like most DC characters, modern portrayals of Olsen have been more serious in tone.

Physical Description Paperback comic book with purple/orange/green front cover featuring illustration of Superman turning Jimmy Olsen invisible using X-Ray vision. Back cover features ad for earning extra money with greeting cards. Front inside cover is an ad for "Draw Me". Inside back cover are ads for "Hard-To-Get Royal Family Stamps" and "Charles Atlas, He-Man."' Comics are in full color. Measurements: 10" length/height, 7" width.
