Title Blanke's Tin Cup Coffee

Description Tin 1lb. container of (label reads) "Blanke's Tin Cup Coffee, An Expert's Blend, C.F. Blanke Tea & Coffee Co. St. Louis". Container is an orange/red color with gold polka dots, and a gold colored frame surrounding text. Lid of container is gold colored with a black knob. The container has a gold colored handle. Many coffee tins during this era were made to have a use after the coffee was gone. This container could serve as a tin cup post-use.

Maker Details The C. F. Blanke Tea & Coffee Company was founded by Cyrus F. Blanke and operated in St. Louis from 1890 to sometime previous to World War II. The C. F. Blanke building still stands at 904 S. 14th Street and has been in use as commercial office space.

Notes The can has some scratches in the label and lid where the paint has come off, however the label is completely readible and the color is still very vibrant. Some rusting on inside of handle and bottom of tin.
