Description / Abstract This book is a part of a series of 14 week lessons on specific topics in Natural Science, in this instance Geology. Includes section "Suggestions to Teachers". Includes the following sections: Introduction, Lithological Geology, Historical Geology, and The Age of Man. Includes both black and white illustrations and quotes.

Physical Description 280 pp. (includes pages advertising other works/some missing). Gray Hardcover book with black and gold colored print "Geology Steeles Series in the Natural Sciences". The cover has an ornate border around the text. The binding is also illustrated in black and gold ink with flowers, a globe, leaves and a bird. Inside front cover is a drawn picture in pencil of a man in a hat and the other side has an inscription "Mary Fallam Burlington Wis June 24, 1886 Mary Fallam". This page also has 5 stamps. The following page is inscribed "Louie E.B." Measurements: 7.25" length/height, 5" width.

Author J. Dorman Steele

Author Details J. Dorman Steele, Ph. D., Fellow of the Geological Society, London, and Author of the Fourteen-Weeks Series in Natural Science. 1836-1886. Became a principal in his early 20s, fought in the Civil War in 1861 and was wounded, later returned to another prinicipal's post. Saw a need for shorter, more comprehensive textbooks.

Notes Some wear on the corners and binding specifically. However, binding is still intact, but loose in the back of the book. Pages are in good condition except for some water damage and yellowing that does NOT interfere with the text. Some writing/markings inside book.
