Notes Overall, rust and corrosion on metal. Areas of loss of the top enamel. Scratches on front and back sides. Edges are dented and worn. The top is folded over metal and that is dented and uneven. At upper right corner there is paper stuck under the metal lip. Starting at top center along toward right corner are red and brown marks. Additional holes were punched into top edge at center and lower edge to left for hanging. On right edge there are brown marks. Back side is worn with discoloration and corrosion at top left corner. At left edge ther eare brown marks, looks like from liquid. On the back there is the faint image and texture of a nearly identical pattern to the front side, but this is upside down, however not backwards. It looks as if it the design on the front was printed on the back. Possible manufactuer's error.

Notes Bireley's gimmick was a non-carbonated fruit drink. In California, Frank W. Bireley developed an orange drink in the 1930s. It was an orange soda drink that was pasteurized, but not carbonated. It merged with General Foods in the 1940s. Today, it continues to be popular in Japan as General Foods gave the rights to Asahi Beer to manufacture and distribute Bireley's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asahi_Soft_Drinks http://armandsrancho.blogspot.com/2009/03/bireleys.html
