Description Wood box, stained dark, with no lid. Black, embossed stamps on three of four exterior sides, "The Flexible Licorice / Flexible Sticks / 100 / One Cent Each". Black, embossed stamps on two of four interior sides, "National Licorice Co / The Flexible Licorice / Bricks / 12 for one cent 12".

Notes Condition is assuming that the back of the box is the unstamped exterior side. Overall box is scratched and has minor dents (unless noted). Some metal nails show signs of rust on the bottom of the box. On front there is a crack in the wood about 2" from left edge and 1" from top. The wood is discolored and stained. White spot at lower edge to right of center. Top edge is worn and uneven, dented with some loss of wood. Right side of box has a crack at lower right corner. Top edge is dented and worn. Back side of box has small, deep scratches. There are metal staples at right of interior of back side. Small nails at top left of exterior of back side. On left side of box, top edge is worn and dented with loss at top left corner and left edge. The ink on the stamp is faded. The bottom of the box has a horizontal crack just below center. On bottom there is a black accretion near the crack. The bottom has scratches and dents throughout.
