Maker Details In 1868, working out of his Plainview, Minn., home, J.R. Watkins made the one-of-a-kind pain reliever with camphor from evergreen trees and capsicum from red peppers. Watkins first introduced the Trial-Mark Bottle and America’s first money-back guarantee in 1869. Relying on door-to-door sales, Watkins gave customers a risk-free way to try his products by adding a molded trial mark to each bottle. By 1895 The expanded line up included Vanilla Extract, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, Ginger, Cloves, Peppermint Extract, and Lemon Extract. In 1928 J.R.Watkins Company wins gold medals at the International Exposition for its Vanilla Extract, Cinnamon and Black Pepper medals you can still see on our packaging today. The company still exists today and uses many of the same products that it started out with.

Notes The label is in somewhat good condition with a few rips. However, the label is taped on with clear tape all over the label and to remove it would ruin the label. The bottle has a crack near the opening that seems to be within the glass. The cork is broken and cannot be removed. Also, some edge wear along the bottom of the bottle.
