Object Desc Brown and red cardboard box containing "Lincoln Bricks" play set. Lincoln Bricks manufactured by J.L. Wright Co., the same company that made Lincoln Logs (1916). Wright was the son of Frank Llyod Wright, whose buildings inspired the toys.

Title Lincoln Bricks

Description Brown and red cardboard box containing "Lincoln Bricks" play set. Lincoln Bricks manufactured by J.L. Wright Co., the same company that made Lincoln Logs (1916). Kit contains 4 cardboard foundation outlines, 1 foldable cardboard roof colored red and blue, 1 blue-colored flat roof, 2 red and blue cardboard doors, 3 red 4-pane cardboard windows, 2 red 2-pane cardboard windows, 2 cardboard "Lincoln Town" signs, 2 "Lincoln Oil" cardboard signs, 1 cardboard "Garage for Rent" sign, 1 cardboard "Express" sign, and one paper envelope containing appx. 5 small pieces of eisenglass for cardboard windows. The set also contains 2 green flat blocks, 1 yellow cube, 8 green inter-locking pieces, 8 light green foundation bricks, 6 red cubes, 6 blue cubes, 21 white bricks, 9 small white cubes, 2 medium-sized bricks, 54 small cubed bricks, and 98 bricks. The set on display has two red and blue cardboard doors, 5 yellow cubes, 1 green wooden window, 8 green foundation blocks, appx. 127 bricks and 1 layout

Notes Box in good condition, labeling and coloring clear and legible. Water damage spots on top of box (lower right corner, lower left corner, and middle right side). 1.75 inch rip in box that exposes cardboard (red pen marks in exposed space). 5 white chips on box lid. All square edges of box are worn and torn, exposing some cardboard. .75 inch rip in bottom edge of lid. Blue paper tape on left and right side panels of box split (original packaging)--tape is curled and ripped. 8 inch bend in back panel of box lid. Pencil markings (7509--5802) on back panel of box bottom. Blue paper tape on bottom panel also peeled and curled. 2-2.5 inch discolored sections that indicate past presence of tape (middle of bottom box panel). Torn white tag in upper left corner of box bottom.
